DOCUMENTATION

Accurate and accessible documentation is the first step in any conservation effort.  As such, SAVE has either updated or created a wide range of existing conditions documentation on dozens of sites.  This work has ranged from basic “B-level” photographic and archival documentation to exhaustive “A-level” documentation which can include photographic, graphical, structural, architectural and photogrammetric records.

    • Basilica at Soli mosaics and opus sectile, Morphou. SAVE carried out a complete catalog of the site, including graphical documentation, photographic documentation and a comprehensive site survey to accurately place the drawings onto the site plan. This work was published by SAVE in The Basilica at Soli, Cyprus: A Survey of the Buildings and Mosaics written by Dr. David Neal.
